The following presentations and actions occurred during the Board of Education Regular Meeting on Tuesday, July 13, 2010.

3.       Held an Executive Session for the employment, dismissal, or compensation of an employee or the investigation of charges or complaints against an employee, possible litigation and matters required to be kept confidential by federal law, rules or state statutes.
                  
4.       Approved the minutes for the May 11, 2010 Regular Meeting, the May 19, 2010 Special Meeting, the May 20, 2010 Special Meeting, and the June 8 Regular Meeting of the Board of Education.

5.      Approved the June 2010 financial reports.

6.       Set the Home Instruction Tutor rate for the 2010-2011 school year at $24.25 per hour.

7.       Approved employment of the following personnel to provide services, which fall within the guidelines of auxiliary services program, to the students of Heartland Christian School for the 2010-2011 school year.

          Tutor - $24.25 per hour
          Erin Rossi – 5 hrs. per week
          Kathryn Holm – 5 hrs. per week
          Connie Laughlin – 14 hrs. per week
          Tamra McCoy – 20 hrs. per week
          Elizabeth LaRiccia – 19 hrs. per week
          Kathy Jones – 17 hrs. per week

          Speech Therapist - $30.00 per hour
          Julie Kimpel – 10-12 hrs. per week

          Clerk - $12.39 per hour
          Susanne Shields – 24 hrs. per week

          Nurse - $24.25 per hour
          Marilyn Broderick – 9 hrs. per week
                  
8.       Approved contract with the Columbiana County ESC for the following services for the 2010-2011 school year.

          Speech Language Services - $78,363.00
          Technology Services - $11,345.00

9.       Authorized the Treasurer to enroll in a Workers’ Compensation
          Group Rating and Risk Management Program for 2011.        

10.     Approved the contract addendum for Don Mook, Superintendent, as provided with this agenda.
                  
11.     Approved the following as Volunteer for a Pupil Activity Program for the 2010-2011 school year as recommended by the Superintendent.

15.     Approved request for change in salary for the following teachers, effective with the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, pending verification of transcripts.

16.     Set the hourly compensation rate for Leslie Costal, Medical Professional R.N., at $18.50 per hour for the 2010-2011 school year.

17.     Approved a change order of $1,675.00 for Nulfco, Inc., for locating and repair of unmarked storm drain at old bus garage site by Joshua Dixon Elementary School.

18.     Accepted the resignation of Jamie Kemats, intervention specialist, effective August 16, 2010.

19.     Accepted the resignation of Stacey Sutera, high school chemistry and physics teacher, effective August 31, 2010.

20.     Accepted the resignation of Robert Rubicky, board of education member and vice-president, effective at the conclusion of the July 13, 2010 Board meeting.

21.     Approved a change order of $2,608.00 for Graft Electric, Inc., for grounding/bonding of the new metal roof at Joshua Dixon Elementary School.

22.     Approved a change order of $9,885.00 for C. Tucker Cope & Associates, Inc., for glass block window replacement in existing gymnasium at Joshua Dixon Elementary School.

23.     Approved a change order of $12,938.00 for C. Tucker Cope & Associates, Inc., for lowering existing chimney and installing new spark arrestor at Joshua Dixon Elementary School.
