Cross Country

The middle school cross country team is the strongest it has been over the past six years. The newest additions to the team stating they joined because they heard the announcements last year during the season and it sparked their interest.

The CMS team is led by Captain, Adam Jester an 8th grader who was just named to County First Team because he placed second overall at the county meet.  The second fastest runner on the boys team is Aiden Radcliff who is quickly showing promise at being named next year’s ms team captain due to his work ethic and his team spirit.

With a full team, the boys are able to place as a team at meets not just as individuals. They often compete against Div I & II teams holding their own.  Our CMS boys and girls they have earned 34 personal best times as of the County meet literally shaving off minutes from their times. For the first time the our athletes will compete at the Mahoning Valley Junior High Championship in October.  The Suburban League Championship is up first taking place on Wed, Sept 25th.

As a final note the team will be volunteering at the Columbiana Library on Sept 26th to help set up the fall used book sale.  Not only do these student athletes shine in the classroom and on the field but also within their community as examples of exemplary behavior and caring citizens.

Great job to our cross country team.  Keep up the great work!
