Unity Through Nature

Columbiana Schools were asked to participate in the VPA Unity project. This year's overarching theme is "Unity through Nature" with an emphasis on our beautiful Mill Creek MetroParks. VPA provided us with a 3 feet by 4 feet canvas to create an original painting based upon the theme.  We were to submit a quote and title for our painting.  Our quote is, "Nature is not a place to visit.  It is Home." by Gary Snyder. The title of the piece is "HOME". Mrs. Zelonish and Mrs. Moreschi had 8 students help contribute to the project's artwork from both Columbiana High School and Columbiana Middle School.  The students are: Chloe Gill (8th), Emily Huber (10th), Rogan Stryffeler (9th), Katie Ervin (8th), Danica Halas (7th), Annika Patrick (7th), Yesenia Pantoja (7th), and Ellie Jackson (7th).  These young ladies worked hard and let their artistic talents shine.

Our painting will be part of an exhibit which will be on display January 11th-February 10th at Mill Creek Park's D.D. and Velma Davis Education Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens (123 McKinley Avenue  Youngstown, OH 44509) in the Weller Art Gallery.  A reception will also be held at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education Center in honor of the exhibit on January 11th at 1 p.m.  You are all invited to attend.
