National Junior Honor Society Information
National Junior Honor Society is an organization that recognizes student achievement in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Community Service, and Curricular Activities.
Seventh grade students that have an average GPA for the first two grading periods of 3.3 have achieved the scholarship requirement for NJHS at Columbiana Middle School.
Eighth grade students with a 3.3 GPA for the seventh grade year and the first two grading periods of the eighth grade year have completed the scholarship requirement for NJHS candidacy.
Students that have met the scholarship requirement received a worksheet that will help the faculty committee know more about the other areas of NJHS. All students who turned in this worksheet by February 24th were able to have these qualities reviewed by the faculty committee. Students who did not turn in a worksheet are still candidates for NJHS. The honor of NJHS does not require an application. The worksheet simply helps the faculty committee know more about the student in ways that are not always available at school. Again, all students earning the scholarship requirement of 3.3 GPA are NJHS candidates.
The NJHS induction ceremony will take place in mid April. Parents will be notified before the date if their child is selected for induction.
