Dr. Kim Sharshan has led a "Thanksgiving Dinner" donation for several years as part of our ever-expanding community outreach initiatives. This year, Dr. Sharshan and the faculty at Joshua Dixon will donate 25 Thanksgiving dinners to those in need over the Thanksgiving holiday.
For a second year, third-grade students have supplemented the school's efforts by collecting items with the theme of "family time together" over Thanksgiving. They carefully curated boxes with board games, popcorn, and other snacks and treats for families to share.
Several local businesses also participated in the initiative. Together, with the third-grade students, they will donate:
• 8 Large Pies from Betty's Pie Wagon
• 72 Individually Wrapped Brownies from FairyTale Brownies
• 6 Thanksgiving themed cookies for each of the 25 families (150 cookies total) from Salty Mamas Snacking Boards
• 25 Free Pastry Coupons from Panera
• 1 Case (48 snack sized bags) of Popcorn from Indiana, Popcorn
• Monetary Donation - $50.00 Check from Integrity Insurance
A very special thank you to The Ciardi Family, The
Columbiana Barber Shop-Jacob Sevek & Family, Hogan’s
Bakery, Giant Eagle, Mrs. Debbie McCoy, and to the Families that
made food or monetary donations.
