FROM THE DESK OF DONALD MOOK, Ed.D.
Dear Parents and Community Members,
I wanted to touch base with you in regards to the state mandated school closure due to COVID-19. Governor DeWine has ordered all K-12 schools to close through April 3. The governor has indicated the school closure COULD be extended.
At this point in time, during the three week closure, the Columbiana Exempted Village School District is committed and prepared to ensuring students still receive a high-quality education. Our teachers are working diligently, preparing educational lessons for digital remote learning. We want students and parents to know that while remote learning is going on, our teachers will be available via email to answer student questions during regularly scheduled school hours.
Information regarding COVID-19 is constantly changing, and we want you to know that the Columbiana Exempted Village School District is committed to keeping families updated. Please be patient with us, as information from the state is updating every day.
The end of the grading period is this Friday, March 20, 2020.
Report cards will be issued at the end of the month. Your building principal will notify you through the district app and website in regards to how report cards will be issued.

We are aware that some families have requested hard copies instead of digital learning. Buildings will provide paper learning packets for these students. Contact your school building administrators with instructional needs during this time away from the school buildings.
Food pantries have been set up in our school buildings, one at Dixon the other at Columbiana Middle School. Food pantries also have school supplies and personal hygiene items.

This week, free lunches can be picked up at our school buildings. Please notify the building principal that you will be picking up from our buildings. Communication is important to our ability to produce the appropriate amount of food for our families.
The district is also working on a schedule to deliver free breakfast and lunch for students starting March 23. Please complete the survey that will be sent electronically, indicating if you would like free breakfast or lunch. Once the schedule is completed, information about locations and times will be posted on the district website and app.
Please follow our district app and website for up to date information. If you haven't downloaded our school app, please do. The app allows text notifications to be sent to your phone for reminders, school closings, and important dates.
The app is FREE. In your app store search for Columbiana Clippers.
When you open the app, click on the three white lines in the red circle on the top left of the app. Go to settings, then select from the drop down menu the school(s) you'd like to receive notifications from.
