Jeff Jackson Named Columbiana High School Principal
Jeff Jackson will replace Dave Buzzard upon his retirement in May
The Clippers celebrate a familiar face at the helms of Columbiana High School as Jeff Jackson is promoted to High School Principal. Jackson is a storied Clipper Alum (Class of 1998) that played on the State Runners Up Golf team.
“After a brief time away, we were thrilled to welcome Jeff back home in 2014,” Superintendent Dr. Donald Mook said. “We have a similar feeling welcoming him into the role of High School Principal. Throughout his career, Jeff has demonstrated a deep dedication to the students, his colleagues, and the entire Clipper Community; his ascension from Assistant Principal to Principal was the natural, well-deserved, and much-earned choice,” Mook concluded.
After high school graduation, Mr. Jackson earned a Bachelor of Education and Master of Curriculum Instruction degrees from Malone University. In 2000, he also won a National Championship with the Malone University Golf team.
Mr. Jackson began his career in education at Massillon Perry where he taught middle school Math and Science for eleven years.
In 2014, he moved back to Columbiana where he taught Seventh Grade Math for three years before ultimately being tapped to serve as the Middle School/High School Assistant Principal. He coached Golf for four years, leading the team to a State Runners up title in 2015.
“The opportunity to use my experience in the classroom and administratively to serve the students and families of this community through the High School Principal position is an exciting honor,” Jackson said.
Jeff and his wife Amy (a NICU Nurse Practitioner at Akron Children’s Hospital) reside in the community with their three Clipper-athlete-daughters Ellie (Sophomore), Maddie (Eighth Grade), and Lily (Sixth Grade).
Mr. Jackson will be replacing beloved long-time Clipper Principal David Buzzard upon his retirement in the Spring. Buzzard and Jackson were colleagues for many years and established a team that yielded great successes and fostered an environment for CHS students and staff to flourish. Jackson will officially begin his tenure as High School Principal this Fall.
