This morning, Friday, November 7th, students and staff from Columbiana Middle School and Columbiana High School came together to honor those who have served our country during our annual Veterans Day Assembly. Breakfasts were served for students with their special veteran guests in the middle school and high school cafeterias. The combined CMS/CHS program had taken place after breakfast in the auditorium for a morning of reflection, gratitude, and pride.
The program included musical performances by our students. Dr. Martin thanked the veterans for their dedication and reminded students of the importance of honoring those who protect our freedoms. Our guest speaker and veteran, Mr. Clemmer, shared stories of his time in the Army and reminded students that they can provide service in many different ways.
The assembly concluded with a moment of silence and the playing of “Taps,” creating a powerful atmosphere of respect and remembrance. Columbiana Schools are proud to continue this tradition of honoring local heroes and teaching students the importance of service, sacrifice, and community.
We would like to thank our veterans and their families, as well as Mrs. Cowan, who coordinates the event each year, along with our students, staff, and PTO, for their efforts in making this celebration possible.
