Congratulations to Anthony Gaglione for setting the EOAC meet record with a 4:48.35 in the One Mile Run. Anthony was also the meets high point scorer with 25.5 points. Great Job Anthony

Spring Fling Reminder: Good evening. Tomorrow is our 25th Annual Family Spring Fling. Please have any items still needing dropped off (cakes, pizza, munchies, ice, baskets, etc.) to Dixon between 9 and noon or to the stadium before 5. The live auction will begin at 6. Items will be posted on Facebook in the afternoon. All prepaid wristbands are in bookbags and need worn to the event. We can still use more pizza, hotdogs and buns, and ice. Mrs. Missos and her Creative Entrepreneurship students attended the Columbiana City Council meeting, May 2nd. At the meeting, the city was presented a check from the Columbiana Community Foundation to have a mural that the class designed be put on the Holloway Insurance building. The mural is part of the latest project by CHS Entrepreneurial students in partnership with the city of Columbiana and local business to improve the city. Congratulations and great work Clippers!!

Congratulations to Paige Lawton and Katie Campbell:
This past weekend Paige and Katie had the chance to compete in the NSDA Last Chance National Qualifying Speech and Debate Tournament. Out of 168 competitors in Original Oratory from 46 out of 50 states, Paige placed in the top 16 speakers, earning a National Qualification. Also, Katie competed against 144 speakers in Informative Speaking. Based on her scores, she also earned a National Qualification.
Both students are eligible to compete in the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Phoenix, AZ. The tournament takes place June 11th-June 17th. Great Job - Paige and Katie!

Eight CHS student's artworks will be part of the ESCEO Art Show. Freshmen: Katie Campbell, Maci Dailey, Madelyn Huber, Paige Kelly, and Sophomore: Nora Ineman.
The show will take place next Thursday, May 4 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the ESCEO. The show will be an open house format where visitors and participants can view the artwork at their leisure. There will be no formal awards program on the evening of the show.








CHS students competed in the area 2 Envirothon in Norwalk Ohio. According to the website: “the Envirothon is an international, academic, outdoor competition for high school students, which is designed to stimulate, reinforce and enhance interest in the environment and natural resources.” An outdoor regional science competition where students take multiple choice exams over forestry, aquatics, soils, wildlife, and current environmental issues and then enjoy a lunch before winners are announced. The Columbiana Red team consisted of captain John Rhodes and teammates Jeremy Sandeep, Delaney Finsley, Nevaeh Kolesar, and Averi Mazei. The Columbiana White team consisted of captain Bridget Caporale, and teammates Summer Sinsley, Daniel Goehring, Anthony Gaglione, and Santino Gaglione.


Columbiana Students were recognized today at the Heads Above the Rest senior honors recognition breakfast. The Columbiana ESC hosted students from around the county with ACT scores above 31 and are above the 95% percentile of all graduating seniors nationally! The 2023 students are: Anna Joy, Delaney Finsley, Luke Mackall, and, John Rhodes. Congratulations to these outstanding Clippers who are "Heads Above the Rest"!

Columbiana Students and their Star Educators were recognized today at the Heads Above the Rest senior honors recognition breakfast. The Columbiana ESC hosted students from around the county with ACT scores above 31 and are above the 95% percentile of all graduating seniors nationally! Additionally, educators and mentors of those students were recognized as their Star Educator have been a significant influence in the success. Spring Fling is just around the corner! We are looking for Volunteers and Donations!

State of Ohio Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Stephanie Siddens, came to visit Columbiana High School's Entrepreneurial Class. Superintendent Siddens, State Board of Education Member Mark Lamoncha, State of Ohio Representative Monica Blasdale, Columbiana City Manager, Columbiana Mayor and City Council members came to see a public - private partnership driven by Columbiana Students. The students and their teacher, Mrs. Trisha Missos, will travel to Carnegie PA. to interact with the city to demonstrate the power of student projects when partnered with government and the private sector.
