CMS: Just a reminder that Monday kicks off our special week for Team Sam! Monday (5/3) has been declared Wear Team Sam Shirts/Wear Green for Sam Day. This also begins our week-long fundraising effort with our penny war/coin drive. Monday-Friday of next week we will accept any change/currency you are willing to donate to the effort. All proceeds raised at Columbiana Middle School will go directly to the family. Please dig deep in your couches and pockets for Team Sam!

One of our high school students is working towards their Gold Award in the Girl Scouts. Her project includes a survey of students in order to determine what playground equipment students would be interested in seeing at our school.
We are asking students in grades 5-12 to complete this short survey in order to provide some information regarding student thoughts regarding playground equipment by this Friday (4/30).

CMS: Just a reminder that Columbiana Middle School will have a waiver day (no school for students) on Friday, May 21st. This is for Columbiana Middle School only. All middle school traditional and remote students will have the day off as the entire middle school staff has a full day of PAX training.

CMS Reminder: Earlier this week, forms were sent home with students regarding band/choir/tentative elective options for the upcoming school year for current students in grades 5-8. If you haven't already done so, please sign and return these forms to homeroom teachers by Monday (4/26). These form are an integral part of our scheduling process. CMS: Wednesday, April 28th is National Superhero Day. In honor of this day, students are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero next Wednesday (4/28). Thank you to all of our students, staff, parents, and community members for being a superhero throughout the year!
CMS: I am happy to announce that our Team Sam shirts have arrived! Please wear them often in support of Sam. I have declared Monday, May 3rd, "Wear Team Sam Shirt/Wear Green for Sam Day" for Columbiana Middle School. This day will kick off our week-long penny war. Wear Blue is a statewide awareness campaign that takes place on the second Wednesday of every April, Child Abuse Prevention Month. Ohioans are encouraged to wear blue today - to work, to school, to a community event - to show support for preventing child abuse and neglect.

All current 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students were asked to take a survey regarding elective options. If you have already taken the survey, thank you. If your child has not taken the survey, please remind them to do so. We have extended the survey through this Friday (4/16). Just a reminder that state testing begins on Monday. We have sent out the testing schedule previously, but please feel free to contact the office at 330-482-5354 with any questions. Eighth grade ELA state testing begins Monday and Tuesday at 8:15. Those testing on the remote learning schedule in the afternoon are asked to drop students off at the front doors by 12:15 for PM testing.
Please consider state testing schedules when establishing appointments where possible. If your child cannot attend on their scheduled testing dates, please contact our office.

CMS: Our CMS Spring Choir Concerts have been cancelled this year due to low participation numbers. Please see the image for Mrs. Cowan's complete message.

CMS: We will visit classes next week in order to discuss course offering selections. We are tentative planning to offer some elective choices along with our band and choir offerings for the upcoming year.
These options will be explained to students. Students will take a survey and a form with their selection will be printed and sent home for parent signature. This signature form will further explain the tentative course offerings.
We are planning to meet with current 5th and 6th grade classes on Tuesday (3/23) and 7th grade on Thursday (3/25).
