Dixon Transportation: Good morning! Bus #22 is 15-20 mins behind schedule this morning. Please plan accordingly. Our apologies for the delay and much appreciation for your patience.
Dixon Families, Good morning! Due to a stopped train, some of our buses will be running late this morning. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through the delay. We appreciate your flexibility! Have a great day!
Dear Dixon Families,
Over the next several months, the City will be replacing a sewer line in the area behind Joshua Dixon Elementary. As the project progresses, there may be times when the Dixon bus loop is temporarily unusable. During those times, we will make adjustments to our bus loading and unloading routines to ensure that students can enter and exit the building safely. We will also make adjustments to our recess schedule and locations as needed while construction is taking place.
Please see the attached information for additional details regarding the project and the temporary changes we may need to make.
We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we work through these necessary construction projects. Student safety will remain our top priority throughout the process.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the school office.
Thank you for your understanding, and have a wonderful evening!

Dixon Families: Good afternoon! As the school year gets fully underway, we are beginning to receive vacation requests, appointment notifications, and parent and doctor notes. I wanted to share updated attendance information related to Ohio House Bill 96.
Please take a few minutes to read through the attached flyer carefully, as attendance letters will begin to be sent home. It is important that families:
• Monitor your child’s attendance
• Send in doctor and parent notes as soon as possible
• Communicate early if your child is struggling with attendance
• Remember that every minute counts!
We appreciate your partnership in making your child's regular and timely attendance a priority. Being at school, on time, every day, makes a difference in learning and success!
Thank you for helping keep our Clippers on track for a successful school year!

Good morning-Tonight’s PTO meeting has been cancelled and rescheduled for next Tuesday, September 8, at 7:00 p.m. at Joshua Dixon Elementary. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing everyone next Tuesday!
Good afternoon, Dixon Families,
I wanted to send a quick reminder to our returning families and provide some clarification for our new families regarding the difference between walkers and car riders.
There has been some confusion about this distinction, and it is creating a safety concern and confusion for our students.
Walkers:
A walker is a student who physically walks to a designated location after dismissal. This is the definition and routine we have taught our students.
Parking at the library, church parking lot, or school parking lot and then walking to pick up your child does not make your child a walker. Please also remember that the side parking lot will be blocked during arrival and dismissal times.
Car Riders
If you are picking your child up by vehicle, please use the designated arrival and dismissal line. Students will be safely escorted to and from their vehicles by our staff.
While this process may take a little patience, it is designed with student safety and consistency in mind. Following the same routine each day helps students know exactly what to expect, and you will especially appreciate this system when we have inclement weather!
As an additional reminder, school buses have the right-of-way in the parking lot. Please be patient and allow buses to enter and exit safely.
At dismissal, car riders will be dismissed first, followed immediately by walkers.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we work together to keep all of our students safe. We appreciate your help in reinforcing these routines with your children.

Congratulations to Mrs. Trisha Missos on being named a "Key Clipper" in recognition of going above and beyond with students at Columbiana High School.

Dixon Transportation: Due to an accident on 7&14, not involving our school bus, traffic is stalled and buses may be delayed. This especially applies to bus #4. Thanks for your understanding in this unfortunate situation. -Dr. Freedy
IMPORTANT! DIXON FIELD DAY UPDATE: Due to the forecasted weather tomorrow, field day has been postponed until the Fall. We will have a welcome back to school bash to start off our new school year. Thanks!
Congratulations to Bonnie Steeb, Bob Spaite and Sonny Woods on their retirements. You have all served our students, families, schools and the community as leaders! Columbiana Schools would like to show their appreciation for the amazing work that you have done and wish you each and enjoyable retirement.

Dixon Reminder: The 28th Annual Family Spring Fling is this Friday, May 15 from 5:00–8:00 PM at Joshua Dixon Elementary! Join us for an evening of family fun featuring: bounce houses, giant slides, face and hair painting, snow cones, cotton candy, and popcorn, basket raffle, silent auction, and 50/50 raffle, food, games, and fun for all ages! Wristbands for unlimited access to the bounce and slide attractions are $10 each. Pre-purchased wristbands will be sent home from school tomorrow. Please have your child wear them on Friday evening to the Spring Fling. We could still use a few more donations: hot dogs and buns, party-cut pizza, small bags of ice, and cakes for the Cake Walk. If you are able to donate any of these items, please send them to school by Friday or contact Dr. Sharshan at 330-482-5355. Your support is greatly appreciated! We hope to see you Friday evening for a great kickoff to summer!
Congratulations to School Resource Officer, Mr. Rich Burbick, for being recognized for his dedication and work at the Columbiana Exempted Village School District by the Fairfield Ruritan President, Rick Urmson.

Congratulations to Kelsey Beckwith on being recognized as a 2026 Columbiana County Rising Scholar graduate!
